I was hungry so I was trying to eat some edamame. As I was popping the slimy little beans out of the pod, it occurred to me that I felt like I was eating alien embryos. I decided to share this information with Stacy who only sits a couple of cubs away. She was eating some fruit. Her horrified response was "You don't like eating so you are going to ruin it for everyone else."

I guess I didn't realize quite how repulsive that would sound. The tone of her voice and the look on her face were so funny that I couldn't quit giggling. I think I am a little giddy. Maybe I need more protein...I guess that means more edamame. Joy :)

I had no idea edamame were slimy. I am at once repulsed and curious...

It may be because these were frozen but it is seriously gross.

I don't like it microwaved. I guess you don't have much choice at work, but at home I boil water on the stove, throw the frozen edamame in for about 5 minutes, and then drain the water & eat them either with garlic salt, soy sauce or somebody-or-'nothers 'liquid aminos'. They are a nice texture somewhere between crisp and soft, and a nice bright green. No slime.

That's officially the funniest thing I've read yet today.
