I went to see Kill Bill last night. I had really wanted to wait until the theater would be less crowded but so many of my friends were seeing it that I wanted to go form my own impressions.

I really enjoyed it. Yes…clearly it was exceptionally violent but not in a way that glorified violence. In fact, it made the violence so exaggerated that it became almost absurd. Yet the story of a warrior’s quest for revenge had a certain kind of dignity even amid all the gore and carnage. Her cause is a just one …not because of the violence necessary to complete it but in spite of that. I am looking forward to the second volume.

School went okay today. The principal and assistant principal are leaving tomorrow after noon and will be gone all week. Good riddance….It is not like they do much when they are there but they sure do like to micromanage…poorly I might add. I should screen every Disney ever made for the rest of the week and not teach a single thing. I am pretty sure that is what they think will happen in their absence anyway. Maybe I should allow them to be right for a change...
